MSD IGNITION

MSD Ignition is known throughout the world as the leader in performance ignition components for automotive applications. We have performance increasing ignitions and products for everything from daily drivers to four-second Top Fuel cars.

The Blaster Ignition provides a powerful spark at an affordable price. The powerful inductive single spark helps burn the fuel mixture which produces snappy throttle response, easier starts and increased mileage. The Blaster installs easily.

Blaster 2 Coils

The following Blaster 2 Coils are supplied with a 0.8 ohm ballast resistor and a terminal and boot to fit most applications. The ballast resistor must be used with stock Points Ignition and Mallory Unilite applications.
 

MSD 6A

The 6A is our base capacitive discharge, multiple sparking ignition. It will increase the overall performance of everything from the loaded work truck to the bracket street cars cruising the boulevard. The hot multiple sparks ensure complete combustion of the air/fuel mixture even under the worst conditions possible.

MSD 6AL

The 6AL delivers everything the 6A does with the addition of a built-in Soft Touch Rev Control. This feature allows you to set an rpm limit to protect the engine from over-rev damage caused by driveline failure or missed shifts. Other MSD RPM Controls can be connected to the 6AL such as a Three Step Module Selector (PN 8737) or RPM Activated Switch (PN 8950)bgcolor="#CCCCCC" vlink="#0000FF" alink="#0000FF" background="mercedesback2.jpg" The 6AL also comes supplied with rubber shock mounts and 3,000, 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 rpm

MSD 6BTM

Supercharged or turbo engines will benefit from the 6BTM in more ways than one. Not only do the full energy sparks help burn the fuel mixture, it allows the driver to retard the ignition timing based on the amount of boost being produced by the supercharger. The timing is adjusted from a dash mounted knob and can be retarded 1 - 3° per pound of boost with a maximum of 15°bgcolor="#CCCCCC" vlink="#0000FF" alink="#0000FF" background="mercedesback2.jpg" There is also a built-in adjustable rev control to protect the engine from over-rev damage.

MSD Tach Adapter

For Toyota applications, you will need a tach adapter.  This will correct the operation of most voltage triggered tachometers or fuel injection systems that do not work directly off the tach output terminal of the MSD Ignition unit.

MSD 8.5mm

The Super Conductor Wire is "the" performance wire.Engineered from the inside out, the 8.5 offers everything you have everwanted in a wire; incredibly low resistance without electronic interference! In a single 12 inch length of Super Conductor Wire there is only 40 - 50ohms of resistance! That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire. To accomplish this, we use a copper alloy conductor due to it's great voltage carrying capabilities. This conductor is wound extremely tight around a special center core. So tight in fact, that there is over 40 feet of conductor wrapped into a single foot of plug wire. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) "choke"bgcolor="#CCCCCC" vlink="#0000FF" alink="#0000FF" background="mercedesback2.jpg"

This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. The EMI suppression capability of the 8.5mm wire is equal to a 1,500 ohm per foot wire except you can get 30 times more spark energy delivered to the plug!

The outer sleeve that surrounds the conductor assembly is just as impressive. A proprietary blend of silicone and synthetic material produce a sleeve that is highly resistant to high heat as well as abrasion and tears. The MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Plug Wire is available for the Supra and MR2 turbo models.
